Try to get a recording if it%26#039;s legal where you live. As a rule, never loan money to someone unless you are okay with NEVER getting it back as you probably won%26#039;t.|||Why are you trying to prove that he borrowed the money? You can write it off your income tax as a bad debt. Then your friend will have to declare the money you loaned him as income. If he fails to do so, he can incur penalties and interest from the IRS.
How the IRS finds out about this can be a mystery.
