The ending quote in the movie: %26quot;Remember, no man is a failure who has friends.%26quot;
Friends aren%26#039;t people you lend money to.
Some poor sap will watch this film and think to himself, %26quot;if I go around lending and giving people money, they are going to be my friend.%26quot;

I always thought that the movie was trying to sell the message that is is okay to settle in life. It is okay to let others get all the good things in life just so long as you are happy with the people around you. In the end, George Bailey is happy because everyone around him is doing so much better than he is that they can keep him from going to jail for losing their money. It just seems wrong that coming back to even should make a person seem rich.

In my opinion, the entire film is tedious and overwhelming.|||He had friends all over the town because he was a good man and well liked. He kept the town from being taken over by old man Potter.
