My neighbor lent me a parakeet book by the dummies book people ,i misplaced it and i cannot find it,

so i felt that being as i accidently lost it i went out and got her the same exact book,in fact it was the last copy! i brought it back home and gave it to her,and instead of saying thank you for replacing the book,i get this--oh,its the wrong book, the one i gave you was a hardcover book then she said some pretty insulting things to me.i called the bookstore where i got the book and asked the clerk if the book came in hardcover and he said ive been selling books for six years and that book does not come in hardcover! ahh,i said to myself, shes throwing the bull at me and thinks i %26quot;stole%26quot; that book! should i let her insults go over my head and let a good friendship go sour all because of a stupid book? im afraid that shes going to haunt me by saying %26quot;have you found my missing book %26quot;? she wont let me rest, all because i missplaced her book! ive turned my room upsidedown looking for that book,i cant remember where i put it! and this goofball wont let me alone! what am i going to do .

Wow ...she sounds really weird.

I%26#039;d let the relationship go sour, she sounds like a real nut case.

Tell her what the bookstore person said and be done with her.

Good luck

You did the right thing by replacing it. It was very responsible. She is just being a brat now. A paper back is just as good as a hard cover.|||Wow.. At least you replaced it! That%26#039;s more than some people would do.

Personally, I%26#039;ve never seen a Dummies book in hard cover.

Stick with the friendship and leave the ball in her court. If she wants to carry on like a baby and hold it over your head like she has something on you, then she%26#039;s probably not that good a friend is she? There%26#039;s a little thing called forgiveness.|||watever!|||I think that if she does bother you about it any more for some reason...even though she got a new copy of the book, then she will eventually stop. Nobody could be so rude as to continue nagging over something you already replaced. Also, as for the hardcover thing, I have never seen a %26quot;For Dummies%26quot; book in hardcover in my entire life.|||Girls can be melted by seeing a guy expose a sentimental side. Go it the Hallmark way! Find a perfectly worded I%26#039;m sorry card at Walmart. Don%26#039;t just sign it,.. write a few sincere sentences about how much your friendship means to you!..

Then .. if it doesn%26#039;t work.. Oh well,.. one less goofball friend you have to worry about!!!! :)|||I think that she really has more issues then she is letting on. Don%26#039;t ever think that the issue might be you. Just be cordial and give her a time out until she can communicate what the real issue is.

Don%26#039;t force her to. Let her do it on her own time.|||atleast you replaced the book its better than nothing|||Ask her to return your book and she will get hers back just as soon as you find it .....How ever long that may be. If she is not keen the paperback version then why did she take it. As far as the original book is concerned it was not a deliberate act to loose it and all you can do is replace it with whatever is currently available.
